If you are searching for a great gift idea this may well tick all the boxes. They are unique and individual scarves which have given me a lot of satisfaction weaving and dyeing them.

I have woven these scarves in plain weave using a mixture of yarns in the warp (bamboo, cotton, tencel and wool/poliamide). There are various colours within the scarves such as light blue, pinks and fawn. I have hand dyed both scarves one of which is a bright red and the other is a pink. On the loom the width was 24 inches wide however I used an over twist New Zealand merino yarn for the weft which after its first wash goes to approximately half that width. This affect is called collapse weave and you can see from the images that the scarves have a lovely texture and when you handle them they do have some stretchiness in the width.
The size of the red scarf is 66 by 12in (168 by 31cm). The size of the pink scarf is 58 by 12in (147 x 31cm). This excludes the fringe which is 4in (10cm) for each scarf. The fringe has been twisted which as well as giving a nice touch to the scarf it also helps protect those warp ends from wear.
To take care of your scarf you will need to gently hand wash in warm water, separately from other items. Rinse. Lie flat in the shade to dry.
The scarves have a lacy look about them which means that you will need to be careful with jewellery near them as threads may pull. If they do pull the thread will need to be gently teased and stretched back into place.
The scarf will be packaged in a black gift box with our logo on the front. Inside the box the scarf will be surrounded by tissue paper.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
