This merino scarf has a beautiful warm soft feel about it. It can be worn in several ways from simply hanging gracefully down or placed around your neck. This light scarf would add a burst of colour to your outfit. I have hand dyed the yarn in four different colours blue, orange, deep red and green. These colours are in a block design. The warp threads are in stripes of all four colours and the weft I have used either a combination of just two of the colours or all the colours.
- Yarn type : New Zealand merino
- Colours : Blue, orange, green and deep red
- Size: approximately 65 x 9in (165 x 23cm), excluding the twisted fringe
- Fringe : Yes, 4″ (10cm)
- Care : Gently hand wash in warm water. Dry flat in shade. Iron while damp.
I have used a block twill pattern which combined with the colours gives the overall effect of a bright eye catching scarf. This particular pattern gives the scarf more drape therefore it will hang beautifully.
The merino scarf has been hand woven using New Zealand merino wool. Merino sheep are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep. This type of yarn makes for wonderful scarves because it is so soft when placed around your neck. The yarn has then been hand dyed using commercial dyes which gives more reliable colours and won’t fade.
The scarf measures 65 by 9 inches (165 by 23cm) this excludes the fringe. The fringe is approximately 4 inches (10cm) long and has been twisted which as well as giving a nice touch to the scarf it also helps protect those warp ends from wear. The merino scarf has been hand stitched at either end which helps with preserving the scarf and also another feature to help complete the handmade look.
To take care of your merino scarf you will need to gently hand wash in warm water, separately from other items. Rinse. Lie flat in the shade to dry. If you think the scarf needs an iron then do so when it is still damp.
The scarf will be packaged in a black gift box with our logo on the front. Inside the box the scarf will be surrounded by tissue paper.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
