This merino striped scarf has a beautiful warm soft feel about it. The narrow random stripes make this scarf playful and unique. It can be worn in several ways from simply hanging gracefully down or placed around your neck. This light scarf would add an elegant touch to an outfit. If you are searching for a great gift idea this may well tick all the boxes.
I have woven this scarf in a simple twill pattern because the stripes in the warp are the feature. The reason I wove this scarf is I have several small leftover balls of dyed yarn from various projects which I wanted to use. The weft colour is all one colour which helps to highlight the random stripes.

The merino striped scarf has been hand woven using New Zealand merino wool. Merino sheep are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep. This type of yarn makes for wonderful scarves because it is so soft when placed around your neck. The yarn has then been hand dyed using commercial dyes which gives more reliable colours which won’t fade.
The scarf measures 65 by 7 inches (165 by 18 cm) this excludes the fringe. The fringe is approximately 4 inches (10cm) long and has been twisted which as well as giving a nice touch to the scarf it also helps protect those warp ends from wear. The scarf has been hand stitched at either end which helps with preserving the scarf and also another feature to help complete the handmade look.
To take care of your scarf you will need to gently hand wash in warm water, separately from other items. Rinse. Lie flat in the shade to dry. If you think the scarf needs an iron then do so while damp.
The scarf will be packaged in a black gift box with our logo on the front. Inside the box the scarf will be surrounded by tissue paper.
